Terms of Use
Effective 23 September 2026 · Act Up for iOS & Android
📜 The short version
Act Up is free to play for 3 rounds a day. Act Up Pro removes that limit and is an auto-renewing subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. It renews until you cancel, which you do in your store account settings, not in the app. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google.
1Who these terms are between
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Nuralingua Studios Ltd, 71-75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom ("we", "us"), covering your use of the Act Up mobile application. By installing or using Act Up you agree to them.
On iOS, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA) also applies, and where the two conflict the Apple EULA takes precedence for the licence itself. On Android, the Google Play Terms of Service apply to your purchase.
2The free tier
Without a subscription you can play 3 rounds per day on any deck, in any language, with every feature including custom decks and round recording. The count resets at local midnight on your device. We may change the number of free rounds in a future version; if we do, the app will show the current number on the screen where you start a round.
3Act Up Pro subscription
Act Up Pro removes the daily round limit. It is offered as an auto-renewing subscription in two plans:
- Weekly: US$8.99 per week, with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers.
- Yearly: US$24.99 per year, no trial.
Prices are shown in your local currency in the app before you confirm, and may vary by country and change over time. Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase, or at the end of the free trial if you don't cancel before it ends.
Renewal
The subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your store account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
Free trial
The 3-day trial on the weekly plan is available once per store account. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, the weekly price is charged and the subscription continues. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Cancelling
You cancel in your store account, not in the app: on iOS, Settings → your name → Subscriptions (Apple's guide); on Android, Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions (Google's guide). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds
Purchases are made through Apple or Google, and refunds are decided by them under their policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Google Play's refund process. We can't issue refunds ourselves because we never hold your payment.
Restoring
If you reinstall the app or get a new device, tap Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Settings and sign in with the same store account. Pro is tied to the store account that bought it.
4Using the app
Act Up is licensed, not sold, to you for personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control. Don't copy, modify, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app or its decks, and don't use it in a way that breaks the law or the store's rules. Custom decks you write remain yours; they are stored only on your device and we never see them.
Act Up is a party game. Play it somewhere safe: don't act out prompts near traffic, stairs, pools or anything you could fall into, and take the phone off your forehead before walking anywhere.
5Changes to the app and these terms
We may add, change or remove decks and features, and may update these terms. If a change materially affects the subscription (for example the price), the store will notify you and ask for consent where their rules require it. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
6Disclaimer and liability
The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties and our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the subscription in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
7Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.
